Now that sufficient members have indicated that they intend to be present at what will be the final conference for Interskola as we have known it, Dorota Pawlak has confirmed that it will take place at:
from 26th July to 2nd August 2009
The conference will take place in the above purpose-built conference centre, in a rural area of great beauty.
Those who have already said they intend to be present, or who have said they wish to stay on the mailing list in case they can come, will all receive a personal e-mail when the programme is more finalised, giving details of costs and a booking form. If anyone else whose name does not yet appear on this list wants to be kept informed or to receive a booking form, please contact Alwyn Evans at interskolacymru@aol.com to tell him that you want information.
We know already that the conference will include opportunities to share memories of past Interskolas, including a talk by Ailsa Stirling, who has attended all 40 Interskolas since the first one.
There will also be a guided tour around the Kashubian Lake District( an area known as the Kashubian Switzerland), a visit to the Wdzydze Kiszewskie open-air ethnographic museum (Skansen) and a sea trip to the Hel Peninsula and the Peninsula region of Kaszuby, as well as a chance to visit Gdansk, the birthplace of the Solidarnosc movement and a historic city famous through the centuries for its amber trade.
There will, of course be opportunities to hear contributors from other member countries, as well as a major input on culture and education in Poland. If any of those intending to be present wish to make a presentation, please contact Dorota Pawlak direct on dorotapawlak@migotania.pl
If you still haven't decided, there's plenty of time to contact us - but remember - this will be your last ever opportunity to attend a full Interskola conference!
